We've been around for over 25 YEARS and offer the highest quality dive trips that can be found departing from Maui's west side. Extended Horizons was established on Maui in 1983 By Erik Stein with 2 sets of dive gear and a lot of youthful energy. After teaching off the beach for 3 years business expanded to our first boat "Extended Horizons". Purchased in 1986 it ran almost daily to Lanai for 8 years. After 11 years of hard work and vast experience in boating it occurred to Erik that the only way to afford to stay in business was to grow a little. After a lot of legwork, and homework raising the capital and designing the new boat in tandem, we finally retired Extended Horizons 1 in June of 1994 to make way for "Extended Horizons ll". Built specifically to our design, dedicated to diving she has quickly become the standard to which the other dive companies here aspire to. She was built in Edmonds Washington by Munson Boat Builders. She has a 36' length and 10' beam. She is roomy and well laid out, plenty of deck space for stowing gear and gearing up. Then in 2006 We RePowered with cutting edge modern Diesels. At 310HP each and turbocharged these engines make Extended Horizons the fastest dive boat to Lanai. She has the speed and power to carry a full load of divers to Lanai in under 30 minutes. These new diesel engines are being run on 100% BIODIESEL made from recycled cooking oil. Almost smokeless and fumeless . She is Coast Guard certified and rated for 21 passengers BUT with a captain and dive crew of two we carry only 13 passengers, and then always dive in two small groups, each separately guided by our professional naturalist guides. The shine in the custom design really shows in the amenities: a fresh water system for rinsing off or rinsing cameras and dive gear, marine head, and canvas sun cover, rack storage for gear, dive platform, and two side dive doors and rear ladders for easy entry. When we say she is a standard to which others aspire, we mean Extended Horizons was a trend setter in 1994 with this boat. In 1997 no less than 5 dive boats have tried to copy our formula. Though our success in our business is in part due to our great boat it really reflects our knowledgeable and helpful staff. Our staff can't be copied though and this is why our clients come back year after year. Come and dive with us and see for yourself!

However we carry only up to 13 divers, Captain and two guides. Amenities:
Pressurized fresh water system for rinsing off yourself, cameras and dive
gear. Marine head, canvas sun cover, dive platform, and two side dive doors,
rear ladders for ease of reentry into the boat Plus plenty of deck space for
stowing gear and gearing up. REFRESHMENTS ARE PROVIDED: Fresh Fruit, Bagels
or Croissants, beverages, cookies

check in. We are a boat charter company not a dive shop retailer, so don't
look for a dive shop, though all the dive shops know who we are if you ask.
Because we do Lanai on a daily basis and have for over 25 years our experience
as a boat charter operation is head and shoulders above ANYONE else in Lahaina
. Many of the shops refer to us when they want their divers to go with the
most experienced dive leaders available for Lanai diving.
All boat trips depart Mala Wharf
in Lahaina See the Map.. A.M. check in is 6:45 A.M. Return about Noon.
P.M. check in is @ 12:30 P.M. Return between 3:30 - 4:30P.M.
Snacks and refreshments are provided, as is all necessary equipment. All our dive gear is comfortable, top of the line, quality, newer gear (Oceanic and Mares BCs, Oceanic/ Mares Regulators equipped with depth/pressure console and an octopus) or you may bring your own. Our wetsuits are 5mm or 3mm step in longsleeve shorties. We also provide microprene Hoods for cold divers .

This is two dives, two locations. Bring along your log book too and
we can give you a scuba sticker for it!

Package rates available for divers. 10% discount if you book 3 trips with us (boat, night, refresher, private guided beach dive or any combination of these)

Rental for SCUBA gear
(Regulator B.C. wetsuit and computer) is $25 { Rate With Full Gear $164}.
If you care to snorkel
or whalewatch, sunbathe or just ride along the cost is the same as a basic
seat on the boat $139 plus tax.

1 TANK DIVE (Refresher for certified divers $99 or Introductory dive- no experience necessary $109) EVERYTHING INCLUDED
Two tank trips first visit the shipwreck Carthaginian off the coast of Maui . This is a great dive for certified divers who are ready for something new and different diving on Maui. Then the second dive is generally 35'- 40' among the turtles on the plentiful reefs offshore Maui. This allows for all divers to enjoy the maximum bottom time underwater.
One tank Beginner diver $109
One tank Refresher for certified diver $99.
Certified divers also enjoy these trips due to the plentiful bottom time, clear water, short boat ride, and extensive variety of eels, fish, and critters. A good warm up for rusty divers too! Certified diver one tank price $99.
These are the one tank dives .
If you care to snorkel or whalewatch, sunbathe or just ride along the cost is $89.
Beach Dive Rates...Smaller groups, easy scheduling and the dive sites are usually the same reefs visited by Maui boat divers. This is often the best way to do a refresher or intro dive. No Crowds.
